”If you really want to see some of the best views you’ll ever see in Edinburgh – fancy a bit of hiking and nature – this is the tour for you. Moray is exceptional. Not only is he warm and welcoming – but his knowledge of the landscape and Scottish culture and history is fabulous. I can’t say enough about this tour.”

”Moray was very flexible in tailoring the Art Deco tour for our party of five, picking us up at the hotel. He is very affable and extremely knowledgeable about Edinburgh in general and Art Deco in particular. We visited a variety of buildings, some of which we were able to see inside. The tour finished with a great afternoon tea in the Maybury. An entertaining and informative tour.”

‘Moray was amazing! He is born and raised in Edinburgh and was full of historical information. In addition, he provided a very thorough display of Scottish culture- even played some Gaelic music for me in the car while driving to the various points of interest. During the tour you are taken to a great hotel where you are served a beverage of your choice and homemade scones! The tour of Gilmerton Cove is a must see!!!
Thank you Moray for a wonderful 1/2 day tour.’

‘Many thanks for a great afternoon tour of Edinburgh’s Art Deco buildings. We saw lots of new parts of the city and discovered buildings that we would never have found otherwise. The Maybury Roadhouse was a real gem and not to be missed! You were a great host.’

‘The hikes and views were everything I had hoped! The hills are so pretty and green. There are so many lovely sights to see from atop them, and to learn about. My guide, Moray, was perfect to learn from, and simply a great guy! He is born and raised, and has raised his own family, right in Edinburgh. On top of that, he is a local doctor, doing these tours, because he loves it!. He is, of course, smart, extremely knowledgable about the hills and everything you can see from them, warm, friendly, and used to dealing with all kinds of people, as he has decades of experience working as a family physician. He is also very cool, and as a tourist, he can give you real insight into the local Scottish culture. I can’t say enough good things about Moray, or the day’

‘I’ve just arrived home after a most enjoyable afternoon tour around the Art Deco buildings of Edinburgh, with 7 Hills Tours. We were met by our guide, Moray, at the minibus who made us very welcome and enthusiastically introduced us to the fascinating architectural design of St Andrews House on the southern edge of Carlton Hill. We were then expertly guided around the Art Deco highlights of Edinburgh. Between buildings, as we drove through the city, Moray provided us with entertaining stories of the architects and the buildings themselves. Having lived in the city for many years it was a revelation to discover these wonderful buildings right under my nose. The afternoon flew by and towards the end we enjoyed delicious tea and scones in the Maybury – a distinctive 1930s gem. Both the exterior and interior detail is beautifully preserved; an elegance which surely enhances its current use as a casino. This was a super tour, in a high quality bus, with a dedicated driver and a knowledgeable and friendly guide.’

‘Really enjoyed this unique experience of connecting the hills of Edinburgh with an out of the tour bus and onto the paths experience covering the hills of nature, pleasure, healing, learning, majesty and memory along with Arthur’s Seat. Led by a physician, this well thought out experience provided both education and exercise. Plan ahead because this tour is only offered on a limited basis and is definitely not one a walker/hiker wants to miss. Spectacular views and engaging history.’

‘These tours are for anyone with an interest in Edinburgh, architecture, history or art. We spent a very enjoyable and interesting afternoon on Moray’s Art Deco Tour of Edinburgh. I thought I knew Edinburgh pretty well, but I will now see it in a completely different way. Moray has researched this tour extremely well, and is able to present it all in a very engaging and entertaining way. One highlight was The Maybury Casino, which I’ve driven past many times not knowing about its amazingly well preserved Art Deco interior! His website details this and his other Edinburgh themed tours. I’d recommend these tours to anyone wanting a local treat, or for any summer visitors wanting to get to know Edinburgh in a unique way.’

‘We really enjoyed our Art Deco tour and very much appreciated the depth of your knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject. We overlook so much in Edinburgh on our day-to-day travels; so many details we don’t notice – I will definitely be looking up more often at our beautiful buildings!’
