Edinburgh is a city bursting with history, but also with literature; so much so that it was the first city in the world to be awarded UNESCO’s ‘City of Literature’ title.

Now, for the first time, you can take a tour which delves deeper than ever before into both worlds – history AND literature…

7 Hills Tours have curated an entirely new tour route for our luxury coach, where you’ll be seeing where Edinburgh’s history was made, and where world-famous authors were born, lived and wrote. Agatha Christie, Robert Louis Stevenson, Muriel Spark, J.K. Rowling, Ian Rankin, Wilfred Owen, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle are just a few of the writers we’ll be encountering!

Your guide, Edinburgh local Dr Moray Grigor, will be weaving the elements together, telling the back stories and anecdotes that will just add to your enjoyment, and truly opening up the city, from the sea to the southern hills. The fun is interactive, too, with imaginary recreations, and a running quiz with tasty spot prizes for correct literary and historic answers!

Altogether, Edinburgh is, we believe, the only city in the UK that could host a tour this culturally rich in a short time space – and 7 Hills Tours is the only provider which can take you to this literary and historic Aladdin’s cave!
